A video that was originally posted on TikTok shows a Karen getting kicked off a Royal Caribbean cruise after she tested positive for COVID-19.
The video which was posted by the woman involved herself, that currently has over 2 million views on TikTok and the caption she wrote read,
“Went on #RoyalCaribbeanFreedomOfTheSea July 2 We gave them our negative Covid test &they accidentally gave us a band 4 vaccinated ppl”. The lady then went on to complain that it was a mistake and the crew is overreacting. Look, they sanitized everything, as if we’re really contagious,” she continues, “as if I really had COVID; I had COVID three months ago.” The Center for Disease Control and Infection says that COVID-19 reinfection, while rare, can occur.
To protect the safety of the crew and the rest of the passengers on the ship, they had an ambulance waiting for her. The crew was wearing hazmat suits to avoid getting the virus.
She tells the staff that the test was a false positive.
According to the Royal Caribbean website, being vaccinated is recommended by all but not at one post in Florida. Despite this, there are many events that would be restricted to ‘vaccinated people’ only. Royal Caribbean also required proof of insurance for covid related expenses.
They have already had a few cases of COVID since there restart.
