Today in Tokyo, Team USA men’s basketball opened their Tokyo 2020 Olympic games up vs France. They continued to struggle, just like in their exhibition games. USA ended up falling to France, 83-76. This also ended USA’s 25-game Olympic winning streak.
Damian Lillard, who’s on Team USA, went on to speak about players in the NBA, who play internationally. He sees them as much better when they play for their country, compared to the NBA. Dame went on to say how they “are completely different” at this level.
A lot of basketball fans on social media fully agreed here, all while slandering Team USA for this tough loss. They joked how Rudy Gobert is like Hakeem Olajuwon in the Olympics, and Evan Fournier played like Michael Jordan.
