NBC Sports co-host Michael Holley is fine after fainting on live television during Friday’s edition of “PFT Live,” the show and its host confirmed.
Holley, a co-host for the past two years, became overheated in the final 30 minutes of the two-hour program and passed out in his home studio. The show airs at 7 a.m. ET on Peacock, NBCSN and SiriusXM 85.
According to co-host Mike Florio, Holley had not eaten or drunk anything before the broadcast and later told him the studio was very warm. Earlier in the show, Holley’s earpiece audio had cut out, and Florio noticed him bending over to fix it.
As Florio was speaking — discussing Troy Aikman’s comments about his dual role as an ESPN “Monday Night Football” analyst and consultant with the Miami Dolphins — Holley began to sway, blinked repeatedly and then slumped to the right, falling out of the camera frame.
“I was looking at the camera, which sits above the monitor that returns the live feed of the show,” Florio wrote in a post on NBCSports.com. “I noticed Michael moving. I thought that he had again lost his audio. When he slumped to the right and fell out of the view of the screen, I knew something was wrong.”

The production team immediately went to a commercial break and contacted Holley’s wife. Within about a minute, Holley began moving again and later confirmed he was fine, aside from needing five stitches in his knee after cutting it in the fall.
Pro Football Talk posted on social media: “On Friday’s @PFT_Live, Michael Holley became overheated and fainted in the studio in his home. We immediately went to a commercial break in order to get him assistance. Fortunately, Michael recovered quickly and is fine.”
Florio described the moment as unprecedented in the show’s 15-year history and “one of the realities of two hours of live TV.” He said the control room will now keep emergency contact numbers for all remote co-hosts readily available.
Clips of the incident circulated on social media before some were removed. The episode was not re-aired on Peacock, NBCSN or Sky Sports.
Holley is expected to return for his next scheduled appearance.
