Here is what we know so far and it isn’t a lot.
ESPN is reporting Richard Sherman was booked at 6:08am at the Seattle Correctional Facility for “Burglary Domestic Violence”, per King County public records. Sherman also was denied bail.
The interesting part is that he is being denied bail.
The spokesman, who would not confirm the name of the person taken into custody, said a 911 call from the residence was received at 2 a.m. PT. The person calling said that an adult male family member who did not live at the residence was attempting to force his way into the home.
When police arrived, the suspect was located outside the home. He fought with police but was eventually apprehended and taken to a local hospital to be checked but was cleared and then booked into the King County Correctional Facility.
The reason no bail is procedural until he can have a hearing.
It appears Sherman was winning the fight because they had to bring in the K-9 dogs to subdue him. That is why he had to go to hospital because he had some dog bites.
Burglary Domestic Violence is normally when you are taking something back from a spouse, girlfriend, baby mama or family member that you believe is rightfully yours, but you take it by force in their residence. Before you think that might send you to jail, remember OJ Simpson got almost 10 years for taking back his own stuff. There was a gun involved and even though the stuff was rightfully his, he still went to jail.
the Redmond P.D. spokesperson also tells us the Washington State Patrol is involved in the case, after Sherman allegedly crashed his vehicle into a cement freeway barrier before he advanced on foot to the home.
For now, flip the pages for even more details and how long Sherman is looking at in jail.
