Over the last few weeks, a woman in Atlanta named Shirley Paul Reyes Azambuya has been going viral for stealing $1 million in jewelry from a man. This is after going on dates with him, and then snatching the jewels away.
Now, Azambuya is officially behind bars, as she has now turned herself into Atlanta police, according to Fox 5. A Fulton County judge has also listed her bond at $160,000. Chains, bracelets, and pendants were among the jewelry stolen.
Azambuya originally spent a few hours with this man, as they went out to dinner. They also supposedly went to a strip club, and later, back to a hotel room. The jewelry was originally in a safe. When he woke up from his sleep, he noticed the shower running in the hotel room, and all of a sudden, the safe was gone.
“He assumed his date was taking a shower,” said Sgt. Jarius Daugherty, “but he looked over to see the safe open and all of his property gone.”
Azambuya reportedly has a history of stealing valuables from men. Fox 5 also reported that she pulled this same move on dates with two other men.
