I would never discourage someone from going to college.
I think you can learn a lot of life lessons on a college campus and make connections that can lead you down the right path in life. There are certain professions you simply must go to school to do. I don’t want a heart surgeon that just learned off YouTube.
With that being said when it comes to media in 2021, you are more likely to get a gig because of how many TikTok followers you have than degrees.
Addison Rae is your standard white woman who got popular off black people’s culture. I am not even mad at her for that because most people aren’t going to turn down millions of dollars and opportunities off being average.
The problem she has like a lot of white women is she is tone-deaf to her privilege.
That is why people are cooking her about her tweet basically mocking how easy she has it. If she would have just done her job no one would have cared, but she had to be condensing about it and that is what made people upset.
It isn’t fair, but life isn’t fair. Black people have known this for centuries, so if you are a white people who went to a Journalism school but is still struggling, now you have a very small taste of what it is like to be black.
Ms. Rae claims she was fired after this all went down.
