I have to be honest
It is confusing to me that players actually get upset at a fictional video game ranking. I would imagine it is a status thing. If you have a high rating in 2k, maybe that is something you brag about to your opponents.
It is hard to say, but then again, every year, I am left off the ROOT’s Top 100 Black Media list when I am far more influential than at least half the people in the list (check the stats), but I digress.
What I do like, though, is how hard Beal’s wife Kamiah rides for him. If she feels he is being disrespected, those Twitter and IG fingers are coming out in full force, and while I don’t agree with everything she says, that is ok, because many women do not care about their significant other as much as she does.
She went off on Ronnie2K and called the game trash.
I am not sure if Ronnie2k is part of the team that makes the game or is just the face of their PR.
Let’s pause for a minute while I check it out.
I am back. Here is what I found out.
Today, Singh is the digital marketing director at 2K, has a social imprint that is usurped by only a few handful of elite NBA players along with a contact list that would make top NBA agents blush, and in many ways, serves as the link between the 2K community, the players, and the developers. When users are clamoring to know the rating of their favorite player, Singh’s Twitter mentions are cast into overdrive. When a player has a gripe about his rating (*cough* John Wall), Singh is the one who bears the brunt of the beef, and most of the time, it is by way of his own influence.
So, he is just the players, and in this case, wives go to complain to, but he really has nothing to do with the ratings.
That is ironic.
Flip the page for Kamiah going off and Ronnie taking it in stride even though she called him a p*ssy..
