You have to understand that a lot of the men in sports media are super groupies.
They have a strange obsession with the players.
Sometimes it comes off as jealousy, and that is why you see them attacking certain players. Sometimes it comes across as envy because they wish they could do the things the players do.
Other times it just comes off weird, like ex-ESPN NBA reporter Chris Palmer who wants you to believe that Kobe Bryant decided not to tell his wife, his best friend, or any of the 1000s people I assume he knew better than Chris Palmer why he changed his number to 24.
According to Palmer, he and only he knows why and Kobe entrusted him with that secret.
Not surprisingly, Lakers and Kobe fans destroyed him on social media.
