Cam Newton’s Dad on How The Patriots Were a Used Honda Civic That Needed a Tune-Up

A few weeks ago, the NFL was surprised to hear that Cam Newton was being cut from the Patriots, after finalizing their 53-man roster. This move also solidified Mac Jones as New England’s official starter.

Now, Cam is speaking out more about the release, in a Funky Friday video, with his dad, Cecil. He didn’t hold back in criticizing the Pats, as he labeled them, coming into last season, as a used Honda Civic that needed a “tune-up.”

“They giving you a used Civic,” Cecil explained. “The passenger door is kinda dangling off and it needs a tune up.”

Cam also went on to address the rumors that the Pats cut him, due to being unvaccinated. He denied that this was the case, by saying “This had nothing to do with no vaccination.”

Cam definitely hasn’t been the same at all, ever since his 2018 shoulder injury. Despite not being on a roster again, he still feels that he has a lot of football left in him.
