Bomani Jones is the next ESPN casualty following in the footsteps of Maria Taylor and Paul Pierce. In a report from the New York Post, Jones will not re-sign with the company in which his contract expires in March. The company or Jones has yet to release a statement, but one of the main shows Jones has appeared on, Highly Questionable, was canceled.
Bomani will continue to appear on Around The Horn and will still have his podcast, The Right Time with Bomani Jones. Highly questionable will be replaced with an all-digital show called, Debatable that will premiere on ESPN+.
Jones has a few options once he leaves. He can either join Showtime, Spotify, or join former ESPN colleagues Dan Le Batard and John Skipper at Meadowlark Media. He is also a commentator for HBO’s Back on the Record with Bob Costas.
I like Bomani and think he has pretty insightful takes; I’m sure wherever he does land at he will make a big impact.
