Dak Prescott is caught up in this La’el Collins lawsuit against the NFL.
The NFL is saying Collins tried to bribe their drug tester, and Collins denies it.
Here is the gist of the lawsuit.
Suspended Dallas offensive lineman La’el Collins sued the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday, seeking an injunction to stop the remaining two games of a five-game ban over substance-abuse violations.
Lawyers for Collins filed the lawsuit in Collin County, the location of the team’s headquarters north of Dallas. The suit claims the NFL suspended Collins for missed tests when the labor agreement reached in 2020 no longer allowed suspensions for those or for positive marijuana tests.
“To Mr. Collins, this case presents the difference between a career in the NFL and a potential career-ruining suspension,” the lawsuit said. “The harm to him could not be clearer.”
Depositions were taken, and one of the people called was Dak Prescott.
He was asked did they joke around a lot with the drug tester, and that is when Dak pointed out that he called him the “Dick Watcher” and asked him how many dicks he has watched today via Daniel Wallach.
According to Dak, the drug tester, whose name is Roy took it all in stride because he wanted to be friends with all the players.
Dak makes it seem like Roy was a bit of a groupie.
When asked if he ever heard Collins offer Roy a bribe, he sternly said he did not and that he never saw Collins with any huge amount of cash on him.
A judge will rule on this immediately, but the Cowboys say that he likely won’t play this weekend even if Collins wins his injunction.
It is very difficult to beat the NFL in a lawsuit, so we will have to see if Collins can eventually come out on top.
