Lori Ann Talens Gets 12 Years in Jail For Running a $31.8 Million Coupon Scamming Business

Extreme couponing is a legit business and saves people lots of money on all kinds of things.

A Virginia Beach couple took it way too far, though. Lori Ann Talens came up with a very profitable illegal couponing scheme and finally got caught after a few years of scamming the system, according to VladTV.

Talens came up with a scheme to effectively make fake coupons so she could get things for little to nothing by manipulating bar codes. She and her husband, Pacifico, even came up with a subscription for people to buy the coupons from her, and they made around $400,000 from that alone.

The feds were tipped off by the Coupon Information Corporation and said that it took a while for her to get caught because it takes a while for the system to run the coupons.

When they raided their house, they found designs for 13,000 coupons, and that the couple saved over $1 million from using the fake coupons. The business was worth $31.8 million and now has them in prison for a while.

Lori received 12 years in prison for being the mastermind, and Pacifico received 7 for supporting her.
