Sadly as more details come out about the Raiders Henry Ruggs III fatal accident, the worse it looks for Ruggs.
He didn’t just kill a 23-year-old woman but also put his girlfriend’s life in serious danger. Ruggs has already been charged with DUI resulting in homicide and is looking at 20 years in jail.
This is just a sad situation all the way around, and prayers need to go out with everyone.
TMZ Sports has additional details.
Police say the person who died in the crash was a 23-year-old woman. Cops added Ruggs’ girlfriend, Kiara Washington, was a passenger in his Corvette and suffered “serious” injuries in the collision.
Police also provided further detail on the accident … claiming Ruggs was traveling at “a high rate of speed” before he veered into the right lane of a three-lane road and slammed into the back of the Toyota.
Cops say the driver of the Toyota got trapped in her seat and was not able to escape the vehicle before flames engulfed it. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police added.
Ruggs has been hit with an additional felony charge DUI with serious bodily harm, and reckless driving with death or serious bodily harm.
He has been booked Clark County Jail in Vegas, and the additional reckless driving charge can add 1-6 years to a potential jail sentence.
Ruggs will have his first court appearance on Wednesday morning. The Raiders and NFL have made a statement, but Ruggs has not.
Derek Carr’s brother David was slammed for using the tragedy to promote his brother’s MVP candidacy.
He tried to clean it up, but it still sounded bad.
I’ll try this again, my apologies if the last tweet sounded incentive, I just can’t imagine another team having to deal with so much off the field. It obviously hits a little too close to home for a brother.
That is a terrible tweet.
