I didn’t think what Karl-Anthony Towns said about Russell Westbrook was that bad.
It mainly was a compliment, but the thing that has people up in arms is KAT said Westbrook chases stats.
Here is precisely what KAT had to say when asked about triple-doubles and chasing stats.
“He definitely gets stats,” Towns said. “He chases stats. But I think he’s a hell of a player, though. I don’t care what anyone says — you know how hard it is to get a triple-double? You know how hard it is? And he play hella hard. I just think that sometimes he plays too quick. He tries to do too much.”
This prompted Draymond Green to clap back by saying this.
“I once watched from the bench due to us beating the Twolves ass and he was in the game down 20 with 2 mins to go.” Green wrote. “Come on man. Stop talking to people about the “bros” and yelling this is a “brotherhood”. SMH.”
This is ironic coming from Draymond, who is always talking about other players, often loudly and in public.
I have mentioned before there is something about Karl-Anthony Towns that rubs players around the league the wrong way. He and Embiid have a long history of hating each other, so Embiid couldn’t wait to chime in.
This is actually an old Embiid rant about KAT but still seems to be relevant.
“Imagine talking after a 20 pts loss. You hate to see it lmao. Go ahead using that pic of me caring about losing in the 2nd round OF THE PLAYOFFS. Oh wait, you’ve never been there. You don’t know what is like. No (Cap) boy finally won 3 games and he’s talking and I know you ain’t talking. You’ve been a p*ssy your whole life. That’s why you were treated like a b*tch boy by you know who. I aint gonna put out your business by I got the facts about you. Don’t get it twisted, I OWN YOU.”
Just another day in the soap opera that is the NBA.
As far as what Embiid knows personally about KAT, it likely has to do with Jimmy Butler and someone’s in KAT’s lift. You can connect the dots from there.
