Brooklyn isn’t for everyone.
Remember, the only player that really wanted to go to Brooklyn was Kyrie Irving, and he is now a part-time player. Kevin Durant went because that is where Kyrie wanted to go. Harden went because it gave him the best chance to win a title in the short term.
Now that he has been there for a while and things haven’t gone as planned, thanks to KD getting hurt and Kyrie thinking the Vaccine is going to put a tracking chip in him, he is considering taking his talents elsewhere when he becomes a free agent after the season.
Bleacher Report speaks on what is bothering Harden about playing in the home of Biggie.
Harden has been vocal to Nets figures and close contacts alike about his frustrations regarding Kyrie Irving’s part-time playing status. A recent injury to Kevin Durant has exacerbated the issue, leaving Harden to shoulder the majority of the offensive burden during Brooklyn home games.
Nets coach Steve Nash’s fluid rotations have also disappointed Harden, sources told B/R. Nash has favored hot-hand closing lineups, rather than a fixed crunch-time unit.
His new city could also be an issue. According to multiple sources, Harden has not enjoyed living in Brooklyn, compared to his days as a central Houston magnate. Outside of the change in climate, the chasm between state taxes in New York versus Texas is quite obvious as well.
While there is obviously nightlife in New York, it has a different vibe than Houston. Harden, especially among the strippers, was considered a GOD in Houston, in NY, he is just another celebrity. He doesn’t stand out as much or get the same type of treatment he did when he was with Houston.
Also, if you have been to strip clubs in both states, you know it is no contest who has the better ones.
The strong rumor is that Harden will go to the Sixers in the offseason, and that is one reason the Sixers might bench Ben Simmons for the entire year, so they can have an asset to sign and trade.
