Deshaun Watson has kept a low profile since being hit with 22 civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault during massage sessions last year. Besides his appearances at Texans training camp before the season, Watson has rarely been seen in public.
That changed Sunday when he threw his girlfriend Jilly Anais a birthday celebration at Turner’s in the Galleria area.
Anais, who was celebrating her 26th birthday, posted photos and videos from the night at the swanky Houston restaurant on her Instagram account, which has more than 2.6 million followers.
According to her Instagram posts, Watson, who Anais has been dating for more than two years, gave his girlfriend a custom Cuban link diamond necklace with her nickname “Lovebug” on it. She also shared a video of the two dancing together and a toast where she thanked Watson for putting the party together.
They say love is priceless, but that might just be something they say in the movies.
There should be some clarification on Watson’s status before the draft, and that is when the trade market will pick up. There will be multiple teams willing to overlook his massage fetish as long as he settles the cases and doesn’t get criminally charged.
Watson is scheduled to earn $37 million next season.
