Bud Dupree has been an excellent addition to the Titans’ defense.
He has improved their pass rush, and it is one of the reasons they are the #1 seed in the AFC right now with one more game to go. It looks like a Walgreens employee wanted to get some video of Dupree to show on the gram, which is when things got a bit physical.
Here is how it all went down, according to TMZ Sports.
Cops have just cited Tennessee Titans defensive end Bud Dupree for misdemeanor assault … after they say he attacked an employee at a Nashville Walgreens on Sunday night.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Dept., several shoppers at the drug store got into an argument with a 20-year-old store employee and then left … only to return a short time later with Dupree.
Cops say the 6-foot-4, 269-pound pass rusher then attacked the employee — grabbing the man and his phone.
According to the police, a physical altercation then ensued … before 28-year-old Dupree left the scene.
Dupree is supposed to turn himself in for booking in three weeks, but that will be right in the middle of the playoffs, so hopefully, his lawyers can handle this quietly behind the scenes for the Titans.
There will likely be a lawsuit as well, so he will have to come up off some cash.
Here is the statement the Titans released.
We are aware of the situation and are gathering additional information.”
This Sunday, the Titans need to beat the Texans to secure the #1 seed, home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, and a bye week.
Dupree signed an $82.5 million free-agent contract with the Titans last offseason, so he has the money to handle this situation.
