TMZ Sports reports that there is good news for NFL legend Adrian Peterson because he won’t face a felony charge for domestic violence despite being booked for the serious charge.
His wife Ashley Brown is also “defending him in the wake of his domestic violence arrest … saying “at no point” did he hit her.”
A rep from the L.A. DA’s office tells TMZ Sports they’ve elected not to charge the 36-year-old running back.
But, Peterson isn’t totally in the clear just yet. The case will now be sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney … who could opt to bring misdemeanor domestic violence charges against AD.
As for the alleged incident … sources tell us Peterson attempted to remove his wife’s wedding ring, causing minor marks to her hand. Our sources say Peterson was taken into custody after Ashley was seen to have sustained a small mark on her following the alleged altercation.
Ashley, though, posted on her Instagram on Tuesday that Peterson never got physical with her … saying, “At no point did Adrian hit or strike me.” “Adrian and I had a verbal argument,” she added. “Unfortunately, it was on an airplane.”
She continued, “This is a private matter between my husband and myself. We ask that everyone respect our privacy so we can focus on what matters most: our children.”
According to Adrian Peterson, he and his wife Ashley only had a disagreement. Neither Peterson nor his wife Ashley has explained why Peterson was so forcefully taking off her wedding ring on the plane that it left a mark on her hand. One can only hope this was an isolated incident and not a pattern of behavior. This happened on a plane, so it makes you wonder what happens behind closed doors. Peterson says he doesn’t hit women, but we know he hits kids, so everyone should just hope this was like they are saying just a minor disagreement.
