Wilson was married to his high school sweetheart Ashton Meem. She was right there when he got drafted by the Seahawks and immediately became a meme.

Alas, it all went downhill from there.
Meem and Wilson had an amazing honeymoon phase. Three months after they tied the knot, Wilson was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Two weeks after that, he signed a four-year, $2.99 million contract.
But behind the scenes, their journey ultimately hit a rough patch. In April 2014, Wilson filed for divorce.
Following the announcement of Wilson and Meem’s separation, rumors swirled about the potential causes. One famous theory is that Meem allegedly cheated on her husband with his then-teammate Golden Tate. Another former Seahawk, Percy Harvin, reportedly hit Tate during the week of the 2014 Super Bowl over the matter.
Tate has always denied that rumor, and no one really knows why Russell filed for divorce, but shortly after that, he started dating Ciara, and the rest is history.
People want Mahomes to go down the same path and feel like he can do better than Matthews, but I can say that Matthews has been with Mahomes when very few people thought he would be a potential Hall of Fame and Super Bowl winning QB.
If Matthews were a little more low-key, no one would care, but she is very active on social media, so she is a target. That is what happened when it appeared she and Mahomes were arguing at a Texas Tech game.
Mahomes and Matthews attended a basketball game at Texas Tech, Mahomes’ alma mater, on Wednesday night. The pair were shown on television in the middle of what appeared to be an awkward moment.
Much was made of nothing on social media — as is typically the case — and Mahomes felt the need to step out for Matthews.
