A mother’s duty is to be there for her child and Eli Apple’s mother Annie Apple has done just that by hopping on Twitter to defend him from all the Super Bowl criticisms.
Here is what Awesemo had on Annie Apple coming to the defense of her son Eli Apple.
Cincinnati Bengals corner Eli Apple was the butt of many jokes during and after Super Bowl 56 this past Sunday.
The veteran defensive back was cooked early and often by Rams receivers. And a critical pass interference resulted in the Rams getting an easy touchdown to Cooper Kupp for the game-winner. Of course, Apple was in coverage when Kupp made the winning grab, as well.
And then Annie Apple hopped on Twitter and tweeted saying:
“I can believe that. Word on the street is you catch a lotta balls. Mainstream media stays on that bullsh*t.”
The Apple family obviously aren’t comfortable about the criticisms people keep throwing at him and the only way to shut their critics up is for Eli to bounce back stronger when the NFL kicks off next season. If not, then they should expect more backlashes.
Eli Apple has been fairly silent on Twitter after talking a lot of trash. When you talk trash, you have to have thick skin and take the feedback. Apple got cooked by Cooper Kupp when it mattered the most and that is just the ups and downs of being a corner in the NFL.
Jalen Ramsey one of the best DBs in the NFL did not have a great game either, but no one will remember that because the Rams won and the Bengals lost.
Apple is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so there are no guarantees the Bengals bring him back and we will have to see what his market is around the league.
