You can never trust a police statement or report.
Until you see a video, you must assume that the cops are lying because they do it so often. Let’s review the Minneapolis PD’s lies regarding them shooting and killing Amir Locke.
The first lie was that Locke was a suspect. Locke wasn’t even on the warrant they were serving.
The police report says they clearly and loudly announced themselves when they entered the residence. They were loud, but there were multiple cops screaming and shouting. Imagine if you were sleeping and ten men came crashing through your door at 6 am yelling, would your brain be able to process what is happening?
The cops said Locke pointed the gun at them when it clearly shows that Locke had the gun pointed downward and never even had a chance to point it at anyone before they shot him.
If not for the bodycam footage, they would have been able to get away with this murder.
A Black man and legal gun owner in Minnesota was fatally shot by a police officer this week after a Minneapolis Police SWAT team acted on a no-knock warrant and startled the sleeping man, who appeared on video to grab his firearm in reaction. The encounter that left 22-year-old Amir Locke dead took place in a matter of about 10 seconds. Body camera video released Thursday night by the Minneapolis Police Department shows the moment officers quietly unlocked an apartment door early Wednesday morning and began shouting at Locke, who was asleep on a friend’s couch and wrapped up in a blanket.
“Police! Search warrant!” officers yell in the video as they storm the residence, bright flashlights shining on the couch where Locke is sleeping. An officer is seen kicking the couch, which appears to jolt Locke awake. Locke then tries to turn around and stand up, still wrapped in a blanket, and can be seen holding a gun. Officer Mark Hanneman fires three gunshots, killing Locke.
This is murder, but don’t be shocked if they get away with it because they always do.
