Nets Trade James Harden to Sixers For Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and Two First Round picks

Once James Harden told the NETS he didn’t like the Strippers in Brooklyn it was a done deal he was getting traded to Sixers.

I am sure Ben Simmons’ mental health issues will clear up immediately now.

Here is the breakdown of the deal per WOJ.

The Brooklyn Nets are trading James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

The NETS had to give up Seth Curry, but was able to keep Maxey.

If Daryl Morey pulls this off, he was obviously right to hold off on trading Simmons with his eyes on a mega star in return. It feels like he has pulled it off, actually. The only question is whether it gets done now or in the offseason. But we still need to see what else is in the deal. If Morey has to include Tyrese Maxey and Seth Curry, that lessens the impact of this deal.

Long term, if I were Philly, I’d obviously rather have Maxey, but short term I’m not sure. Curry is a knockdown shooter and has proven he can be a really good secondary creator next to a guy like Harden. Spacing will be of premium importance with a Harden-Joel Embiid duo.

Kyrie Irving is still a part-time player in Brooklyn and Kevin Durant is injured. Simmons hasn’t played all year, so no idea what type of shape he is in and there is still the issue of him not shooting in crunch time or any time for that matter. The winner of the deal will depend on how these franchises play in the playoffs.

Until then it is anyone’s guess what might happen because there are still a lot of moving parts. Also, don’t forget Harden is a free agent after the season so he could be half a season and done with the Sixers if he chooses that path.

We shall see.
