Glen Davis might actually be in trouble with the law over the awkward incident of him being caught on video stealing a fan’s seat at a Celtic game a few weeks ago. TPS reports that Davis was in Boston that day without the court’s permission and that’s a violation of his bail terms, “conditions which stem from Davis being charged with defrauding the NBA’s health and welfare benefit plan”.
Davis was supposed to appear on the radio program “Toucher & Rich” on 98.5 the Sports Hub in Boston this Friday. Per the hosts, he had to cancel due to a court appearance.
“We were told the reason Big Baby couldn’t come in studio this morning is because he was in court,” the “Toucher & Rich” Twitter account shared. “If [Heitner’s tweet] is true, the reason is because he violated his bail to sit on the court at the Celtics/Nets game.”
Here is what happened when Big Baby tried to steal the seat via Yardbarker.
Glen “Big Baby” Davis got caught in 4K during the Boston Celtics-Brooklyn Nets game on Sunday.
Near the end of the third quarter, the ABC broadcast panned to Davis, the former Celtics big man, sitting in the crowd. Unfortunately for Davis, fans arrived to kick him out of the seat that he was in right as the camera was on him. Davis appeared to have stolen the seats of the rightful ticket holders in an attempt to get closer to the action.
You can see the color slowly drain from Davis’ face as he realizes that the jig is up. He didn’t even reach for his ticket to check for who had the right seat. He just stood up and left. That is definitely the reaction of a man getting caught red-handed (and on national television to boot).
Davis, now 36, played for the Celtics for four seasons and won an NBA title with them in 2008. But it looks like he still can’t get a courtside seat at TD Garden without sneaking his way into it.
