Jam Master Jay’s alleged murderers recently had a trial date set for later this year and the family will be able to get some justice.
One of the men though, Karl Jordan, is wanting to be let out on bail according to VladTV.
Prosecutors filed documents that showed a video of Karl Jordan Jr., rapping “Silver Spoon,” which they feel was proof that he’s a threat to the community. They claim the man shouldn’t be let out on bail because he openly bragged about drug dealing and having guns. Along with that, the man allegedly rapped a song in front of a Jam Master Jay mural in Queens, New York.
Jordan and his lawyers ask that he be released on a $1 million bond. Lawyers for the suspect say there are “credible witnesses who will testify that he was at their home at the same time as the alleged murder.” Along with that, the lawyers claim the suspect is at high risk for contracting coronavirus due to health issues.
A man charged in the slaying of Jam Master Jay once filmed a brazen rap video in front of a street mural commemorating the beloved Run-DMC member, prosecutors say in court papers opposing the defendant’s release on bail.
The amateur video was one of several instances when Karl Jordan Jr. proved himself a danger to the community by openly bragging about dealing drugs and possessing guns following Jay’s 2002 death, the documents say. It features Jordan rapping a song titled “Silver Spoon” in front of the mural in Queens.
Among the lyrics: “I wasn’t born with no silver spoon…I had to grind, grind and get it out the pot…and get it off the block…get it off the rock.” The papers add that in the next verse, Jordan rapped that he “hustles hard, like the mob, a dealer serving hands like they cards.”
Probably unlikely that he gets bail but you never know.
