This is the second time a fan has punked out this week when Russell Westbrook has confronted them man to man.
Here is a Raptors fan talking about how much he loves Russ, and as soon as he is safely 100 yards away, he starts talking trash. That is such weak behavior from the fan. I want to slap him myself. Be a man. If you are going to talk sh*t, do it while he is right next to you, not while you are 100 yards away.
I want to tell Russ to stop giving these fans who are looking for clout attention, but he is within his right to talk back when people are talking sh*t to him. That is what happened during this encounter via Clutch Points.
Russell Westbrook made abundantly clear earlier this month that he’s fed up with the widespread criticism directed at he and his family in public spaces. Unfortunately for the Los Angeles Lakers lightning rod, so forcefully addressing that dynamic has only further emboldened people who believe it’s their right to castigate professional athletes off the playing field—especially the most cowardly among them.
Westbrook fell victim to another fan’s personal barbs on Thursday during a night out in Toronto. Instead of gritting his teeth and brushing off the unprovoked hate, though, he made sure to stand up for himself.
Take note of the fan’s shifting responses to Westbrook the farther he away gets from the 6’3”, 200-pound veteran.
He initially backtracks after Westbrook challenges him, attempting to engender goodwill by noting that he’s “bet” on Westbrook multiple times this season.
Well, at least that what’s the fan wanted Westbrook to believe before revealing his true colors.
Walking away from Westbrook, the fan who approached an adult on the street to complain about his job performance gets brave enough to call the future Hall-0f-Famer and noted philanthropist a “goof” multiple times.
This clown behavior from fans, so just stop it.
You are a man, be better than this.
