It has been a tough season for Damian Lillard.
Injuries have robbed him and the Blazers of a playoff spot, but it is good to see that he is still in good spirits. Normally when we do stories about fans, it is bad interaction.
This, in this case, was a positive one about if Lillard is a boob or booty man.
Dame is a booty man. I am a boob man myself.
As far as the trailblazers, they are limping towards the end of the season, especially after the CJ McCollum trade.
When CJ McCollum walked through the doors of the Moda Center on Wednesday night, his gameday routine was vastly different from the one he became accustomed to during the first eight-plus years of his NBA career.
A different uniform. A different locker room. A different entrance to stroll to the court. It was a weird and strange few hours for him to experience.
And the emotions were heavy. It was McCollum’s first game against the Portland Trail Blazers since the team traded him to the New Orleans Pelicans in February. It was a night filled with appreciation and reflection on his time in Portland.
In his return to Rip City, McCollum went 9 of 16 from the floor and scored a game-high 25 points for the Pelicans as they defeated the Blazers, 117-107.
While the trade was 50 days ago and the scar of leaving the city he’s built a foundation in still hurts, fans in Portland weren’t shy to show their love for McCollum during the game. Fans inside the Moda Center gave McCollum claps as he jogged onto the floor pregame and delivered a minute-long standing ovation during Pelicans player introductions.
It was really ingenious how the fans got Dame to answer, and then Dame acknowledged it on Twitter.
