Future says all his ex-girlfriends were toxic while talking about his previous relationships. He also talked about not being credited on Kanye West’s songs.
According to Future in a recent interview via TJB;
The Atlanta rap artist said he doesn’t mind being synonymous with the term, as it means different things for different people. In his eyes, he claims, the women that he’s dated in the past were toxic to him, even if they don’t admit it.
“People have their own definition of what toxic is….[These women] all were toxic to me. They just don’t want to admit it.”
The interviewer previously mentioned two of the “Mask Off” artists most high profile relationships. If you recall, Future had a brief 2013 engagement to R&B singer Ciara, 36, who he shares 7-year-old Future Jr. with. Additionally, the lyricist shortly dated Steve Harvey’s socialite daughter and model Lori Harvey, 25, in 2019. However, the pair eventually called it quits, declaring their single status by early 2020.
Future noted in the interview, that the toxicity is all part of his art, and helps him share his more vulnerable side. While discussing his upcoming project, the “March Madness” rapper admitted that despite the toxic perception, he’s a hard lover in real life. Referring to the new album, he stated:
“Putting this project together is just people understanding that I love hard….Probably love the hardest. I wanted to showcase my skills as far as melodies and topics and being vulnerable.”
Future also touched on his relationship with Kanye West and not being credited on his songs.
“Me and Kanye always had a relationship….It’s hard for people to understand, because I don’t put everything on Instagram. People don’t know I’ve been able to go to his house, and pull up right into the crib. We just never talked about it.”
Additionally, Future shared that he’s been writing on Kanye albums for some time now without always receiving credits. For him, it’s about the love of the art and the chance to show a great respect. He addressed the matter stating:
“Sometimes not getting credit when you write with him because the love of the art is…I want it to be right. Top tier. Just being able to create and put those textures over different music, and being involved with something like that.”
