BSO was the first to report the sudden passing of relationship guru Kevin Samuels.
We have more details on what happened before he passed away and how a woman on the scene tried to save him.
The Atlanta Police Department said officers were called to an apartment on East Paces Ferry Road NE on Thursday morning “regarding a person injured.” By the time police arrived, first responders were performing CPR on an unresponsive man later identified as Samuels.
A woman in the apartment told officers that Samuels had complained about chest pain and that she attempted to help him but he fell, the police report states. The woman called 911.
Samuels was taken to Piedmont Hospital, police said. When contacted Friday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said it could not confirm or deny any information.
BSO has IDed the woman as Ortencia Alcantara a 32-year-old registered nurse from Atlanta. She claims she met Samuels at a restaurant the night before he died. She spent the night with him before he complained of chest pains and collapsed on her.
She tried to perform CPR but wasn’t successful.
According to The Sun, Georgia police officers responded to a 911 call from an Atlanta apartment on May 6, 2022.
When they arrived at the site, they “saw” fire department workers “doing CPR on a black individual who was unresponsive. Then, they met Ortencia in the location, who identified the guy as Kevin Samuels, the relationship guru.
She stated that she met him the previous night, went to his residence, and stayed with him. But in the morning, he complained about chest pain.
And, when she tried to help him, he fell on top of her. She immediately dialed 911 for help. Later, he was taken to Piedmont Hospital, where he took his last breath.
Ms. Alcantara has made her Instagram page private but we were able to grab a few photos from her as well as the police report.
