Shaquille O’Neal is being real and going hard on Ben Simmons over his mental health excuses. Shaq in previous interviews has trashed Ben’s excuses and in a new interview, he talked about him rocking $300K Gucci and chains on the bench. Shaq believes Ben’s excuses are mere excuses and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
According to Essentially Sports;
Shaquille O’Neal is one of the many analysts who had given his honest opinions about Simmons. In multiple shows, he had reiterated that Simmons’ excuses are mere excuses. And said that hard-working people of the nation are hurt and tired but they still put in the work to earn a living. Obviously, this didn’t sit well with Simmons and he re-tweeted a tweet that said that Shaq should apologize to Simmons.
During Shaq’s recent interview with Bleacher Report, he was asked about Simmons’ re-tweet. And the host asked whether O’Neal would apologize to Ben. Shaq said that everything he said was a fact. And also said that he doesn’t understand how Simmons could sit on the bench with $300,000 Gucci and chains.
He also said that if Simmons had called him directly to speak about it, he wouldn’t mind looking back to see whether he said anything that was hurtful.
He also said that Simmons is leaving it for the people to speculate and so there will be speculations. Shaq also pointed out the people behind the cameras during the interview to show that they are hurt and injured as well, but they still show up. And he said that he doesn’t respect people that didn’t show up to work but get paid, anyway. He said that he respects the hard-working people of America.
Then the host brought up Ben’s mental health and anxiety issues and suggested that could be the reason he wasn’t speaking up. Shaq said, “If you have anxiety shooting free throws, you have anxiety putting on green leather, $300,000 worth of chains… I can understand you have anxiety in the game. But when you are not playing and sitting on the bench and you know $300,000 Gucci and big chains and rings. Do you have anxiety then? That’s all I wanna know…”
But Shaquille O’Neal admitted that he wouldn’t mind accepting he was wrong when things finally come to light.
