The last time we saw Delonte West, he was working out for the Big 3 and hoping for a basketball comeback.
He looked pretty good in the clips that were released.
The last time West played in the NBA was a decade ago, when he played for the Dallas Mavericks for the 2011-12 season. The 38-year-old guard also spent time in the Chinese Basketball Association and in the G League, spending two stints with the Texas Legends. The last time West played professional basketball of any kind was in 2015, so returning to the court is an uplifting development.
Throughout his life, West has dealt with various difficulties, including economic instability, substance abuse, and mental health issues, during and after his NBA career. For that reason, many have expressed excitement about seeing West return to the court with The Big3.
Sadly, it appears that West has had another relapse and is back on the streets begging for money, according to Clutch Points.
A fan randomly saw West walking on the streets holding a sign, which we can only assume says something about asking passers-by for some cash.
Another photo of West is also making its rounds on social media, and apparently, West is currently in Virginia.
West has a history of addiction and he’s already been through rehab several times in the past. It seems that he could be in trouble again right now.
There’s no denying that Delonte West is one of the saddest rock bottom stories in the NBA. Prayers out for this man. I just hope people are still willing to help him out
Hard to say what you can do at this point to help West.
Multiple people, including Mark Cuban, have done their best to help West out and get him out of the situation, but he has a serious addiction, which is hard to break.
Thoughts and prayers go out to him, and I hope he can get back on his feet.
Flip the pages for Delonte West asking for money on the streets and possibly being homeless.
