Delonte West has opened up about his mental health and according to him, he sometimes forgets he even played basketball. He made this know during a brief interview with YouTuber named Shiakuro.
Vlad got more;
Delonte West has been spotted over the years, with many making a push to help the former NBA player. West has dealt with addiction and mental illness, and now he has revealed he’s still dealing with similar issues despite people attempting to help him.
A YouTuber named Shiakuro interviewed the former NBA player, saying, “You’re really Delonte West. I used to play 2K with you for so many years.” West was seen offering the man a bite of his food, but the man declined and offered to get food for West.
Delonte West then spoke candidly about Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban sending him to a rehabilitation facility to receive treatment for his mental illness. West completed the program but noted, “I’m just losing my thoughts, man. Sometimes I forget I even played basketball.” West, who is also dealing with the early stages of Multiple Sclerosis, said, “God knows what he’s doing… If any other thing would have happened differently, then me and you wouldn’t be sitting here talking.”
I feel like there is a gift and curse to recording West like this. I think it is important that people see how he is doing and make sure he is ok, but on the flip side, it does scream of clout chasing even though the man did offer West some food. The crazy thing was West offered him some of his food.
The common denominator in all these videos is West just wants his kids to be taken care of. I hope some of the people who are trying to help West are also trying to help his kids.
