LeBron James is probably tired of playing with Russell Westbrook! According to reports, he has no interest in playing with Westbrook for another season. In this case, it’s either Russell leaves or he [LeBron James] calls it quits with the Lakers.
According to Side Action;
Just yesterday, a report shedded light on how Westbrook would refuse to take blame for his erratic play during the film sessions last season.
Now, a new report is claiming that LeBron James has ‘no interest’ in playing with Russell Westbrook again next season.
“It’s pretty darn clear that LeBron has seen enough and he has no interest going into another year with Russ as his teammate,” NBA insider Dave Mcmenamin said during an appearance on ESPN’s The Lowe Post podcast.
It was pretty clear that LeBron James was trying to pull some strings to get Kyrie Irving traded to the Lakers earlier in the offseason. But after the Nets remained firm on their high asking price for the star point guard, it seems those talks have dwindled.
So now, the Lakers are still saddled with Westbrook as their point guard with his ridiculously high contract for next season.
When push comes to shove, LeBron James might just have to suck it up and try to make it work with Russell Westbrook one last time.
This report seems to contradict the report that LeBron called up Westbrook to make things work.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook huddled up on a phone conversation the first weekend of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with each expressing their commitment to one another and vowing to make it work, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
While the uncertainty of Westbrook’s future with the Lakers remains, the conversation was organized to make sure all three were on the same page as long as they’re joined together in their pursuit of a championship, sources said.
Westbrook has never requested a trade from the Lakers, sources said.
The former MVP will earn $47 million for the 2022-23 season before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2023.
Westbrook’s name has been a constant in trade chatter, specifically his link to a potential package that would include Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving.
