What is going on with Texans players?
We have another very disturbing accusation against one of their players, this time running back Darius Anderson.
A police complaint against Darius Anderson, 24, who lives in Fort Bend County, was filed with the Houston Police Department on Friday, according to court records. It was unclear as of Monday if he’d been arrested and formally charged. Court records said a warrant or citation had been issued for Anderson’s arrest.
According to the complaint, police were called to the home in the Museum District shortly after 7:30 a.m.
A woman told police Anderson forced his way into her home, causing her to fall onto a staircase, according to the complaint. She told Houston police that Anderson chased her through the home and she grabbed a gun off a coffee table to prevent him from having access to it, according to the complaint. She never pointed or shot the weapon, according court documents.
She told officials she hid in a bathroom, and that Anderson said he broke the lock to the bathroom door and yelled he was going to beat her up, according to the complaint.
She said Anderson left after hearing her call police, according to the complaint.
She said Anderson grabbed an “unknown number” of the woman’s shoes as he left the house, according to the complaint.
The woman told police she and Anderson had been in an “on and off” again relationship for a year and that they had broken up two months ago, according to the complaint.
In court documents, prosecutors asked for a $50,000 bond, noting that Anderson is a professional football player and had the financial means to be considered a flight risk.
Here is what the Texans had to say about the matter.
“We are aware of the report involving Darius Anderson. We are gathering information and have no further comment at this time.”
