When Aaron Donald signed with Donda Sports, Kanye had already said Slavery was a choice, took shots at Harriet Tubman, wore a MAGA hat, and tried to help Donald Trump steal the election.
After Aaron Donald signed with Donda Sports, Kanye said White Lives Matter, aligned himself with Candance Owens, and lied about how George Floyd was killed.
Neither before nor after did Donald think about not working with Kanye. It was only until Kanye started talking about Jewish people that Donald suddenly decided this was a man he couldn’t work with.
Nick Hamilton of Nitecastmedia asked Donald directly why didn’t he care about the things Kanye said about the Black community, and Donald refused to answer the question.
He refused because we already knew the answer. When Kanye talked badly about black people, his net worth went up, and more people wanted to work with him. When he started to talk about white people, his net worth went down, and now he is a pariah. He was the same person talking about black and white people, but only when he spoke about white people did cancel culture start to creep into his orbit.
Donald announced around the same time that his family would leave Donda Sports, saying Ye’s remarks “are the exact opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children.”
“As parents and members of society, we felt a responsibility to send a clear message that hateful words and actions have consequences and that we must do better as human beings,” Donald wrote in his statement via Twitter. “We do not feel our beliefs, voices and actions belong anywhere near a space that misrepresents and oppresses people of any background, ethnicity or race. We’ve had the pleasure of working with many incredible people along the way and hope to continue to use our platform to uplift and support other families, children and communities through positive outreach.”
Brown and Donald signed with Donda Sports in May.
