Wikipedia Update got some updates about Zach Wilson’s career after he was benched again in the game against the Jags. This is the second time Zach Wilson is getting benched, and Wikipedia update believes this could be the end of his NFL career.
According to TPS;
When Zach Wilson was benched by the New York Jets for the first time this year, many thought it would likely spell the end of his chances at becoming the team’s franchise quarterback.
Now that he’s been benched for a second time this season? Well, according to the latest Wikipedia update, that could spell the end of his career altogether.
Chris Streveler was called in to replace Wilson during Thursday Night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars. And shortly after, his Wikipedia page received a hilarious update…at Zach Wilson’s expense.
While this was obviously done as a joke by some quick-thinking individual, it could very-well turn out to be true. Wilson has yet to show that he’s capable of leading an NFL team in his first two seasons in the league. And he’s not exactly looking like a worthy backup, either.
Perhaps the only thing keeping him in the league at the moment is the fact that the Jets used the second overall pick on him just last year. But your draft position can only keep you in the league for so long if you’re not proving you were worthy of it. Just ask Josh Rosen.
It is tough to say what went wrong with Zach Wilson. He has the physical gifts, but this may have been a situation where the wrong team drafted him. Being in NY for a kid coming out of BYU was probably a bit overwhelming and he is cracking under pressure. In contrast, someone like Trevor Lawrence could learn from his mistakes without as big of a spotlight and has gotten a lot better.
