For years now, many people have been speaking about the differences in how Tom Brady is seen vs. other NFL players.
Particularly on the sidelines when they’re yelling at teammates. Tom Brady is seen as a fierce competitor trying to fire his teammates up while others are seen as bad teammates who need to learn to control themselves.
Tom Brady knows this and sets the record straight by saying he can be a bad sport.
There have been plenty of examples of him being angry on the sidelines, like throwing his tablet to the ground, screaming at his teammates on the sidelines, and throwing temper tantrums, even as recent as this past Sunday against the 49ers.
After the beatdown they took, Brady didn’t shower before the flight back to Tampa because he was so upset and talked about the reasons for that, but he did sign a football for 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw who intercepted one of Brady’s passes and says
“It was (expletive) for me, to be honest. It was complete (expletive). But I try to be a gentleman…
It was a great play he made. I’m happy he’s got the ball. I wish I didn’t throw it but I’m trying to be a good sport. Because a lot of times I’m not a good sport. I can be a pretty bad sport. In the moment when they get me in the right frame of mind I’m actually a good sport.”
At least he admitted he could be a bad sport. Brady is old. He is at the end of his career, so he has softened. He will still curse out the entire team and snap at some reporters if he has to. He hasn’t become that good of a sport, don’t get it twisted.
