According to cops, Baroni beat his girlfriend to death.
A couple’s argument ended in tragedy, on Sunday afternoon in the town of San Pancho, where an American killed his partner in a hotel in the coastal town. Apparently the subject was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
It was the same man who identified himself as Phil Baroni, 46, originally from New York and a resident of San Francisco, who notified elements of the State Tourism Police who were making a surveillance tour of Third World Avenue and asked for help, since he pointed out that his girlfriend from Mexico City named Paola, was unconscious inside a hotel room located on Asia Street.
The uniformed men arrived at the hotel next to the reporter, where they found the woman lying down and without clothes on a bed covered with a sheet that was shown multiple traces of blows, bruises on her face and parts of her body and without vital signs.
When the man was questioned about what happened, he said that, at about 3:00 p.m., he was smoking marijuana and drinking beer inside his room, where he began to argue with his girlfriend because she revealed to him that he had had had sex with another man, so he began to feel jealous and opened the shower telling him to take a bath, but as the woman refused to do it to the floor.
The former UFC fighter, when he saw that his girlfriend was trying to get up, helped her and went to lay her down on the bed where he took off her clothes and covered her with a sheet because she told him that she was cold, after a few minutes the woman asked her for cigarettes and beer, so the man left the room to get what he had asked for and after smoking the attempt to revive her no longer showed vital signs
Baroni was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of homicide and later sheltered in the cells of the separates of the Municipal Administrative Court of Valle de Banderas.
