In today’s world, you can make money in some of the craziest of ways. Prime example? Someone is selling a bottle of sand, and it’s reportedly reaching up to $100,000. No, you didn’t misread. The thing that makes this sand special, is that it’s the same sand that Tom Brady was apparently standing on when he recorded his retirement video.
Brady announced his retirement from football on February 1st, which is also the same day he announced his retirement last year before returning 40 days later. Some time later, a person went down to the beach, found the spot he recorded his video, then posted it on eBay to sell. Over a hundred bids have been made on the bottle of sand so far.
Just goes to show you not only how popular Tom Brady is, but also how powerful his name has become over the course of his illustrious career. It’s almost as if anything his name touches turns to gold. Brady retired after 23 seasons in the NFL, and qualifies for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2028.
What’s next in the chapter of Tom Brady? He goes to join the Fox family as an NFL analyst, as the now ex-quarterback agreed to a 10-year, $375 million deal with the network just a year ago. It’ll be interesting to see how well he does in that area. The last quarterback that tried to make the transition (Drew Brees) didn’t perform as well as expected, in the eyes of football fans. That said, they might not even need him to say much to draw in big numbers.
Brady will automatically draw in a large crowd, fans and haters alike. And almost anything he says will generate clicks and buzz around social media; which I’ll assume FOX is counting.
That’s just how it is.
