Videos of Grizzlies Dillon Brooks Starting Brawl After Hitting Cavs Donovan Mitchell in the Nuts

Dillon Brooks seems to always be in the middle of some controversy.

The Grizzlies seem to want to pattern themselves to the 2020’s Pistons Bad Boys. Every other game, they fight with the opposing team, fans, and people on Twitter.

They better hope they win some NBA titles because if they consistently lose in playoffs, they will get cooked by social media and the regular media.

Here is what the Grizzlies and Cavs are saying about the brawl.

Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell and Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks were ejected after a third-quarter scuffle in Thursday night’s game.

Mitchell was tossed after throwing the ball at Brooks after the players tangled under the basket, while Brooks was called for a flagrant-2 foul and was also ejected following the fracas with 5:48 left and the Cavs leading 81-76.

After missing a shot and falling in the foul lane, Brooks flung his arm back and struck Mitchell, who was standing over him, in the groin area. Mitchell dropped in pain and retaliated by firing the ball at Brooks and then charging and shoving him along the baseline in front of the Memphis bench.

The officials and players were able to get things under control before any punches were thrown.

Mitchell, speaking after the game, said “yes” when asked if he felt Brooks gave him a cheap shot.

“That’s who he is. … this has been a habit for years,” Mitchell said.

The Mitchell-Brooks tussle seemed to motivate the young Cavs. They built a 12-point lead after three quarters, pushed it to 21 in the fourth for a 128-113 win to hand Memphis its seventh loss in eight games.

Even though they have lost seven of their last eight games, the Grizzlies are still the second seed in the West.
