Super Bowl LVII will be one to remember for plenty of fans, and teammates. A special moment shared with friends, families, and loved ones–especially if you’re on the winning side. Unless you’re a member of the Kelce family, then you’re a winner no matter what the outcome of the game was.
Jason and Travis Kelce shared the same field together this past Sunday. The younger brother, Travis, hoisted up his second Lombardi trophy in four years. Jason was overcome with tears and emotions, but they weren’t tears of sadness. In Jason’s own words during their latest podcast episode of New Heights, “they’re tears of joy”.
“Ironically, you lose the Super Bowl and you’re crying after the game, and they’re not tears of sadness, they’re tears of joy,” Jason stated.
“The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional, because man, it was so awesome…” Jason said before starting to choke up with emotion. “It was awesome for, you know, she was on top of the world for a week.”
And boy was she ever. Donna Kelce, mother of the Kelce brothers, was wearing gear that was split between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. After the game, Donna went straight down to the field to find her two sons, and shared a heartwarming moment with each of them.
“She was on top of it and she shined the whole time, man. That was the coolest part,” Travis added, with emotions running equally high inside of him. “Mom, you absolutely killed it. Dad, you’ve been killin’ it.”
What Donna got to experience, for over a week mind you, is one that she will never forget for the rest of her life. She was on top of the world, as she deserved to be. Yahoo Sports writer Matt Harmon commented down below to share what Donna Kelce said to him during an interview last week.
“When I interviewed Donna Kelce last week she told me, ‘this is every mom’s dream, just getting to talk about your kids all week.’ Unforgettable week of joy for the whole family,” Harmon mentioned.
Moms truly do deserve the world. After all, where would we be without them?
