If you’re a person that doesn’t know who George Foreman is, then I advise you to continue reading this article,
To start bluntly, Foreman is a legend in the world of boxing. The 74-year-old is a former two-time World Heavyweight Champion and a gold medalist of the 1968 Summer Olympics. If you don’t know him by this, then maybe you’ve come to know him by his infamous kitchen grill.
If you still don’t know who this man is, then you’ll have the opportunity to learn about him and the life he’s lived in the new biopic “Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World.”
The film reportedly details a myriad of things about Foreman. Such as how Foreman came up from nothing to become one of the world’s most renowned boxers, as well as his rivalry with the late Muhammad Ali. All of this is in addition to detailing how he made his return to the ring after it was initially deemed uncertain.
Plenty of sports celebrities today find the prospect of their lives and careers being told on the big screen to be both exciting and an honor. However, that apparently wasn’t the case for Foreman. Foreman was apprehensive about the idea at first.
“You go through life building a big fence, bricks and everything to cover up your life, to hide your life,” he said. “Then all of a sudden, you got to reveal all those things you’re trying to hide. It’s not easy to tell a story about your life when you really spend a lifetime hiding your life.”
His tone changed when he saw the final product for himself. Foreman was moved to tears and prayed that the movie helps inspire others to keep pursuing their passions. Foreman also told BSO that he wanted boxing to be more about what goes on inside of a fighter’s head when he is in the ring and not so much the fighting inside of it.
The miraculous story of the once and future Heavyweight Champion of the World is headed to the big screen. Watch the trailer for Big George Foreman, coming exclusively to movie theaters on April 28.
