WrestleMania 39 Predictions: Who Will Steal The Show, Be The Tribal Chief and Why Cena’s Beat Still Knocks

The best weekend of the year is upon us, that’s right it’s WrestleMania weekend! This year is shaping up to be an all time classic, with Triple H entering his first Mania as head of creative (Yes he’s still head, yes Vince has shown up to ONE show, but Triple H is still head). We have the culmination of a several years long championship reign in the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns taking on the absolutely white hot “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. We have Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, finally friends again, taking on Sami’s once brothers, The Usos. We have BIG MEATY MEN SLAPPING MEAT with Brock Lesnar facing Omos, and Drew McIntyre and Sheamus facing Gunther for the Intercontinental championship.  A father attempts to beat his own son with Rey taking on Dominik Mysterio. Hell John Cena is also on the damn show taking on Austin Theory for the United States Championship, what a weekend ahead of us. Now enough chit chat, let’s get to it and go over this show and predict what happens.

NIGHT 1

John Cena vs. Austin Theory (c) United States Championship match.

A feud years in the making, Austin Theory finally gets his match against his childhood hero John Cena (Feel old by the way?). Cena, right on the cusp of starring in Fast and Furious 300, is coming in to work with a star in the making. Theory, despite having horrible beard control, has all the talent in the world and an undeniable charisma. This is one where the old guard is here to put over the new, and Austin will win decisively, proving he can hang with the best of them.

PREDICTION: Austin Theory retains.

Braun Strowman & Ricochet vs. Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy vs. Viking Raiders.

The “Get everyone on the card to work Mania” match, this one has fun potential though with Otis becoming a member of  Maximum Male Models as Otise, we might see the implosion of the Alpha Academy here in favor of a fun moment with Otise and MMM. That said, I think this might be the final big moment of the Street Profits before they go their separate ways, and because of that, I am having visions of a flying Montez Ford hitting a frogsplash for the win.

PREDICTION: Street Profits.

Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio.

A feud DECADES in the making, Dominik, the same kid with the blonde hair watching Eddie Guerrero fight Rey Mysterio for his custody (God I love wrestling) is now challenging his own father at the grandest stage of em all. This feud has been a ton of fun as Dominik has really come into his own being the “Ex Con” owning up to the ridiculousness of it all. Him being mad Rey bought him a BMW instead of a Mercedes was amazing, and his stunned look after Rey finally landed a punch has been phenomenal. Expect Dominik to come out in a low rider maybe even to Eddie Guerrero’s music as Dominik beats his own dad.

PREDICTION: Dominik Mysterio.

Seth “Freaking” Rollins vs. Logan Paul.

What has to be the dark horse for banger of the weekend, Seth Rollins takes on social media megastar, horrible boxer, yet great wrestler Logan Paul. This has been a fun feud as well as Seth Rollins has finally began the change into being a babyface after months of the crowd singing the absolute piss of his theme song, Rollins has the most momentum he’s had in quite sometime. On the other hand, Paul has finally embraced his inner douchebag and has gone full heel and he’s become all the more better for it. If Paul actually wants to, he could genuinely become the biggest heel in the company and maybe even champion should he stick around long enough. Thing is, he’s already indicated his contract is up after Mania, and given the fact that he missed a boxing match after injuring his knee against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel, all signs are pointing at Paul going away for awhile after Mania to do what he will call professional boxing. Given the real life events, combined with Rollins’ momentum, the answer becomes clear.

PREDICTION: Seth Rollins.

Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, & Iyo Sky) vs. Becky Lynch, Lita, & Trish Stratus.

This is what I love about wrestling summed up in one match. Legends being able to come back and work with the stars of today and tomorrow. It’s been fun to see Lita and Trish get involved again and looking really good, and seeing Becky turn good again after the heel run of last year, it’ll be real fun to see them go up against Damage CTRL who, to be frank, could really use this one. While it is fun to see the legends of yesteryear back and better than ever, Damage CTRL really need the victory here. They’ve been playing for fodder to just about everyone and could use a victory on the big stage.

PREDICTION: Damage CTRL.

Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair (c) Smackdown Women’s Championship match.

Rhea Ripley has really hit her stride ever since joining the Judgement Day, constantly pairing up with Dominik Mysterio as his “Mami” and now has the chance to right a years long wrong against the woman that beat her at WrestleMania 2020, Charlotte Flair. Flair did what we know she does best, win a freaking championship. The feud itself has been pretty lackluster but I’m expecting a really good match as their match in 2020 was actually really good, and this match should be better for it.

PREDICTION: Rhea Ripley becomes the NEW WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. The Usos (c) Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.

The implosion of The Bloodline begins with what will be an emotionally charged epic of a match. Zayn and Owens recently reunited with a hug that shook thousands to their core. The Usos who, like their big cousin Roman, have had a stranglehold on their respective championship and the time is near to make the change. The reunion of Zayn and Owens has been incredibly well done, and them beating The Usos would be a huge moment for the both of them. Zayn finally gets to face the family that betrayed him, and Owens finally has the chance to come good despite always betraying his prior partners and friends. I do hope this is the main event for the night as this has the most heat with the fans that isn’t Roman vs Cody. Zayn and Owens winning would also be a phenomenal way to end the show, so let’s see what happens.

PREDICTION: Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens become the NEW Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.
