Often, in closely contested fights, fans tend to cry foul and accuse the judges of robbery if their preferred fighter doesn’t win. However, it’s important to understand the distinction between a controversialactual robbery. While Devin Haney’s win over Vasiliy Lomachenko may have been controversial or disputed, it certainly wasn’t a robbery. victory and an
Scoring in boxing is based on rounds, which can be perplexing for some as a fighter may dominate one round but lose a closely contested one in the next. Despite this, both rounds carry equal weight in the eyes of the judges. Although Lomachenko’s rounds were more dominant than Haney’s, ultimately, it doesn’t make a difference.
The judges praised Haney’s impressive work on the body, while Lomachenko’s occasional coasting may have resulted in his loss.
Based on the judges’ assessment, Haney emerged victorious due to his strong performance in the early rounds and his ability to secure a few rounds in the latter half of the fight, including the crucial 12th round. Without Haney’s impressive comeback in the final round, the fight would not have resulted in a draw, as he had been struggling in the 11th round.
The fight was scored 115-113 in favor of Lomanchenko by BSO, but there were several swing rounds that could have resulted in a draw or a 115-113 score for Haney. It may be difficult to find 8 rounds to score for Haney, but depending on how the rounds are scored, it is more realistic to find 7 rounds in his favor.

With that being said he is still the undisputed champion at 135 pounds and if he stays at that weight he controls the division and who gets a shot at his titles.
The question remains: will he accept the challenge of facing Shakur Stevenson or Gervonta Davis? Or will he choose to move up to the 140-pound division, where he can participate in more significant fights?
It’s always better to win, even if it’s a controversial victory. Let’s see what Haney does next.
