West Virginia basketball head coach Bob Huggins is currently under fire and it could be really bad for him.
While on a interview with Bill Cunningham’s Stooge Report, a Cincinnati radio show, and was asked about the time he was the coach at Cincinnati and there was an incident in the Crosstown Shootout between them and Xavier.
He says they threw rubber penises on the court and the host then said it was transgender night which then Huggins responded by saying no, it was all of the Catholic f****s that threw them. He said the word twice in the span of 10 seconds.
After the interview went viral, Huggins released a statement saying
“Earlier today on a Cincinnati Radio Program I was asked about the rivalry between my former employer, the University of Cincinnati, and it’s crosstown rival, Xavier University. During the conversation, I used a completely insensitive and abhorrent phrase that there is simply no excuse for and I won’t try to make one here. I deeply apologize to the individuals I have offended, as well as to the Xavier University community, the University of Cincinnati and West Virginia University. As I have shared with my players over my 40 years of coaching, there are consequences for our words and actions, and I will fully accept any coming my way. I am ashamed and embarrassed and heartbroken for those I have hurt. I must do better, and I will,”
It will be interesting to see if he faces any punishment.
That was an old school slur from Huggins.
