Kim Kardashian is putting her law degree to use in her favorite case (not in court, but on social media). Kim has been very passionate about the case of convicted rapper C-Murder and has maintained that C-Murder is innocent.
The rapper was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2009 after he was found guilty of the murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas. Kim has since taken it upon herself to lobby for the rapper’s release. According to her, he was wrongfully sentenced. In a new post, Kim claims a new law under Louisiana State allows C-Murder’s case to be reviewed, however, the rapper was denied trial even before he could try, and according to her, that is unfair.
Kim Kardashian has been working to free rapper C-Murder, real name Corey Miller, for some years, and she provided an update in a public statement released on Thursday (August 3).
Kim revealed that a new Louisiana state law would allow Miller the right to another trial. She explained, “Louisiana recently enacted a new law that provides innocent people with the ability to raise a post-conviction claim of factual innocence.”
Kim added, “Mr. Miller has raised such a claim and, like all of his prior post-conviction filings, has been denied relief without even so much as an evidentiary hearing. In light of the fact that the only witnesses have completely recanted their testimony, there is absolutely no remaining evidence against Mr. Miller. Corey Miller deserves a day in court to test the veracity of the recanted statements and to prove that he did not shoot Steve Thomas.”
I wanted to shed some light on a case that I’ve been working on for years…
Corey Miller has spent 21 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, and his conviction is based entirely on the testimony of two men, whom the State dragged to trial just on material witness…

Back in 2020, Kim spoke about the case on Twitter, writing, “My heart goes out to the family of Steve Thomas. I can only imagine how hard this is and my intention is never to open up this painful wound but to help find the truth behind this tragedy.
“True justice for the young man requires that the person who actually killed him be held responsible and that Corey Miller [be] returned home to his kids.”
Kim’s interest in the case began ever since the key eyewitnesses in the case debunked her testimony and admitted she lied about seeing C-Murder shoot Steve, and she has maintained her position ever since.
