Twice in two weeks, another wife is on the edge of losing out on her husband’s property due to divorce as she was caught trying to kill her husband with bleach.
According to reports, Air Force worker Roby Johnson noticed his coffee started testing funny after his wife, Melody Felicano Johnson, fixed it for him the night before. Because they were on the verge of divorce, his suspicion drove him to buy pool testing strips, and his suspicion was proved when the coffee tested high in chlorine. He later set up a camera in the kitchen, which captured the wife pouring over a foreign substance in the drink.
Rob Later got the wife arrested and is currently being held on a $250K bond on charges of first-degree attempted murder, poisoning, and more. They have one child together.
An Arizona woman has been accused of trying to kill her US Air Force worker husband by poisoning his coffee with bleach – after he set up secret cameras in their home to catch her.
Melody Felicano Johnson allegedly poured a toxic substance into her husband Roby Johnson’s morning coffee at their home on multiple occasions. The dad believes that she was doing it to try and collect his death benefits.
She was indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree attempted murder, attempting to commit aggravated assault and poisoning food or drink.
Johnson was stationed in Germany for work in March 2023 when he thought his coffee started tasting ‘very bad.’
His wife would prep his coffee the night before, so in the mornings he just had to turn it on to have his caffeine fix.
Because of his suspicions, he bought pool testing strips, dipped them in his coffee pot, which showed ‘high levels of chlorine.’
He also set up cameras, which showed his wife Melody pouring something into the coffee pot.
According to the report, he continued to pretend to drink the coffee but did not file a police report until he arrived back in the Davis Monthan Air Force Base in the US in July.
He set up more cameras at their permanent stateside home – one over the coffee machine, in the laundry room where the bleach is kept, and another showing the route from the laundry to the coffee maker.
After collecting all the footage, Johnson went back to the police and showed them his evidence.
Police then arrested Melody at the home, and a search warrant reported that the coffee pot smelt like bleach.
The documents also revealed that the husband thought she was trying to kill him ‘to collect death benefits.’
The pair were still living together with their child, but were going through a divorce.
At an arraignment on Friday, Melody Johnson pleaded not guilty.
She is being held at the Pima County Jail on a bond of $250,000.
The mom is set to appear in court on September 6.
According to the prosecution, Johnson had just bought a house in the Philippines, and was therefore seek as a flight risk.
In recent times, the go-to move for most people has been to pull out a gun, hire a hitman, or use undetected poisons to slowly kill people they once loved due to misunderstandings. It is pathetic how cruel we are growing as a society. I’m glad Melody was caught.
