Only two days after undergoing Achilles tendon surgery, a defiant Aaron Rodgers pledged on Friday to make a full recovery and made it clear he intended to continue playing for the New York Jets.
The 39-year-old quarterback, who is the oldest player in the NFL, said he knows “some odds [are] stacked against me based on age,” but he still aims to disprove the doubters.
On ESPN’s Pat McAfee show , Aaron Rodgers revealed
“I think what I’d like to say is, give me the doubts,”
“Give me the timetables. Give me all the things that you think can, should or will happen because all I need is that one little extra per cent of inspiration. That’s all I need.”
“So give me your doubts, give me your prognostications and then watch what I do.”

Aaron Rodgers further stated
“So give me your doubts, give me your prognostications and then watch what I do.”
“Definitely some odds stacked against me based on age, but I like it,” “Stack all the odds up against me and see what happens.” “My entire focus and dedication is on acquiring the most information,”
“And then adding to what I’ve already put together is a pretty damn good rehab plan that’s going to, I think, shock some people.”
Dr Neal ElAttrache, an orthopedic surgeon with a Los Angeles practice who has operated on many elite sportsmen over his career, carried out Rodgers’ procedure. The quarterback, who is 39 years old, will have a difficult, lengthy recuperation period.
Although Rodgers refused to give a timeline for his return, it is evident that he wants to pick up football again. When asked if he meant this year, he replied, “If the Jets make the playoffs.”
