Zach Wilson can’t catch a break even if he’s on the winning side. Three plays into Monday night’s game, Aaron Rodgers suffered an injury. Wilson replaced him and assisted the New York Jets in winning in OT.
Even after helping his team and guiding them to a win, Zach Wilson, the troubled quarterback, was unable to win over the home audience. A supporter was seen in a video posted on social media tossing a water bottle at Wilson as he left the pitch.

The third-year quarterback laughed in shock when the water bottle toss struck him close to his head, and then he high-fived a teammate in the corridor leading to the locker room. Lisa, his mother, was not happy for obvious reasons as she watched her son get assaulted by someone in crowd.

According to Fox Sports, she wrote “That happened after they won the game,” “Hit him right in the head. Awesome.” . Lisa reposted a water bottle toss video in which the Jets’ supporters were described as a “horrible fanbase.”

Tuesday, Lisa discussed her thoughts on Wilson’s surprise performance in her other Instagram stories. She said
“I thought this was going to be a year of development and growing and learning and we were all going to get to sit and watch this amazing connection that Zach and Aaron have, which Aaron has been so, so good to Zach, and he has been just really such an amazing support and just holding his hand through all of it, and he’s been learning so much and that quickly came to an end,”
“My heart breaks for Aaron because I know how much he loves this game and Zach went in there like literally he hadn’t really played all week and he had to get up and he had to do it and he had to play hard and I am so, so proud of him.”
When Wilson was traded to the New York Jets in April, the 39-year-old Rodgers took over as the team’s starting quarterback. Wilson, who was selected by New York in the first round of the previous draught, was meant to sit on the bench and learn from a legend while attempting to resurrect his career.
In his first game as a substitute quarterback, Wilson completed 14 of his first 21 passes for 140 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. If the Jets are to have any hope of making the playoffs, he will need to play significantly better.
