Groin Injury Sidelines Amari Cooper of the Browns Against the Steelers

Amari Cooper, a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, ‘aggravated’ his groin during practice on Saturday and is now regarded as questionable for ‘Monday Night Football’ against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The injury occurred late in Saturday’s drill, according to Browns coach Kevin Stefanski, and Cooper had to walk inside with the medical staff before drill ended.

After playing with a hip condition for the second half of the previous season, Cooper underwent core muscle surgery this summer. He continued to play in every game and led the Browns with 78 receptions for 1,160 yards and nine touchdowns.

Cooper caught three passes for a total of 37 yards last weekend as Cleveland defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-3 in Week 1. Stefanski said

“We’ll see how he does over the next 48 hours,”

“If we have to adjust,” “we’ll adjust.”

“You should do that Week 2, Week 3 as well. There’s a lot of communication that has to take place when you’re talking about the quarterback and the guys that are catching the ball.

“So that’s running backs, tight ends, wide receivers, constant dialogue in terms of how guys come out of routes, where the ball is going to be. So that’s always ongoing.”
