Caleb Williams, the quarterback for the USC Trojans and the current Heisman Trophy winner, is the overwhelming favorite to be selected first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, which features a class full of elite quarterback prospects.
Williams will have the chance to further establish himself as the top prospect for the 2024 NFL Draft when his Trojans go to Shedeur Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon for a game that is expected to draw huge television audiences.
However, according to Skip Bayless of FS1 (who is never short on controversial opinions that few people share), Shedeur will make a better NFL quarterback than Williams. Yes, you did read that right.
During his preview of tomorrow’s big game on “Undisputed” (h/t Ryan Broyles of the Pro Football Network), Bayless outlined the reasons why he believes Shedeur will be more successful in the NFL than the Heisman Trophy winner from the previous season. He said
“I’m projecting way into the future because we don’t have enough body of work from Shedeur yet. I’m gonna remind everyone out there that Shedeur Sanders has been sacked more than anyone in college football this year…He’s under siege on nearly every snap. He doesn’t move to run; he moves and slides to find the uncovered receiver. The more I watch him, the more he grows on me.”

Shedeur Sanders career so far and fans reaction to Skip Bayless comments
Under the direction of his father, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, and weighing in at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Shedeur has achieved incredible success. Shedeur has completed 1,410 yards and 76.9% of his pass attempts for 11 touchdowns and one interception.
Along with 71 running yards and three rushing touchdowns, Williams has completed 74.3 percent of his pass attempts for 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns without throwing an interception.
Several projects Should Shedeur declare for 2024, he will be selected in the first round of the draft the following year. But if anyone other than Williams won the overall race at this point, it would be a great shock.
Following are the reactions of football fans to Skip’s stunning remarks:
